How to copy referance Layout of Nordic in my Altium Pcb design

Hi. i have a little problem. For start, i want to use the referance Layout found here link text with the hardware description file of PCA10004.

So there is a simple method to import the referance layout of Nrf51822+ Balun in the Altium pcb PCA10004 project, and after add at it sensors, Leds, Buttons and other kind of GPIO?

I want to create a custom board with balun.

Thank you very much

Best regards

  • Hi Giovanni,

There is a Altimum project in the reference layout on Johanson website that you pointed to. And also you will be able to find the Altium project for the PCA10004 on our website. I don't think there should be any problem to combine them.

  • OK. Thanks for your reply I thought I would be able to do a simple copy and paste of the Johanson layout in the layout PCA10004 but it is not. So I wanted to use the feature to create a component from schematic and keep the layout already set in Johanson and insert into pca10004. but I can not. I think there is a simple method to do this bit i don't find it. No problem Another question. Where I can find information about the PCA10004 board properties such as stacking heights, dielectric constant and loss tangent of the board’s dielectric? Sorry for this question but I'm afraid that these parameters influence the success of my custom board.

  • I think it's better if you only import the components from the Johanson's layout and add them into the PCA10004 reference design. It's pretty simple layout, so you should not have any trouble. The PCA10004 board is 2 layers board, the thickness is 1.6mm. The material is FR4 and dielectric constant should be 4.6. A suggestion, if you have different question, please open a new case. It's easier for other to find a direct answer for a particular question when searching.
