Automated BLE testing using the nRF52840 Dongle with command line scripts

Hello,

I have some custom hardware that uses both BLE 4.0 and BLE 5. I am looking for information on if it is possible to use a nRF52840 Dongle to connect to multiple peripheral devices from my PC. Are there command line scripts available with examples for this particular dongle where I can scan, connect, and read and write to custom services?

Hi,

You can use the nRF52840 Dongle as connectivity device for pc-ble-driver, and for the python (pc-ble-driver-py) and javascript (pc-ble-driver-js) wrappers built on top. With that, you get serialization of the BLE API of the SoftDevice (in c/c++, python or javascript), with which you can build a pc side application or script.

pc-ble-driver-js is used for nRF Connect for Desktop, where with the BLE app you can connect, write/read characteristics etc. through the GUI interface.
