Advertising GPS coordinates

Hi. Is it possible at all to link a GPS module to an nRF52840 SoC and being able to advertise coordinates without having to connect the nRF52840 to the remote node? Thanks

Hi,

I don't see a reason why not...  You can attach a GPS module via UART and advertise coordinates, for example, as part of device name or in manufacturer-specific data field.

There is no explicit example for this. What example that is most suited depends on how you have connected the GPS module and the nRF52840 together. Is it e.g. with UART ? What GPS module are you using ?

The GPS y would use would have the following restraints:

1.- the smallest footprint

2.- The lowest electrical consumption

3.-Able to withstand big shocks

We don’t have any official recommendation for stand-alone GPS module. Maybe your distributor could recommend you something. (Digi-key, Mouser, Avnet, etc.).
If you are looking for an LTE-M/NB-IoT SiP with integrated GPS, I can recommend the nRF9160.

Take a loot at https://www.u-blox.com/en/product/zoe-m8b-module, it's definitely one of the smallest GNSS modules.
