UART example semantic error

Hey guys,

I'm working with a Laird BL652-SA Development Kit and downloaded the Nordic SDK v14.2.0. I want to try the UART example, but after the build comes a semantic error and I don't know what to do. I have attached photos. Please help me.

Hi Christoph,

I strongly recommend you use Segger Embedded Studio IDE when developing for Nordic devices instead of Eclipse.

You can download SES from this link. See the Developing with SEGGER Embedded Studio guide at the infocenter for help to set up the development toolchain.

Hey Marjeris,

thank you for your answer! I thought I have to use this link / document (https://connectivity-staging.s3.us-east-2.amazonaws.com/s3fs-public/2018-10/Using%20the%20DVK-BL652%20and%20Nordic%20SDK%20v14.0.0%20with%20Eclipse%20and%20GCC%20v1_0.pdf)  and Eclipse because of the BL652-DVK. Is this document obsolete or why are you recommending me developing with SES?

Hi Christoph,

Yes, indeed that document is a bit old (oct 2017). We still support gcc as a compiler if you still prefer to use that, but after 2017 we started using SES as our default IDE. You can use Segger Embedded Studio for commercial and non-commercial purpose with Nordic Semiconductor devices free of charge.

If you are going to start developing now I also recommend you use our newest SDK which is the nRF5 SDK v16.0.0.

Ok Marjeris, thanks for your advice. I will keep it in my mind.

At first I will continue to try it with Eclipse and nRF SDK v14.2.0.  Do you know how to fix this errors (see pictures) in eclipse? And do the errors disappear in SES?

And if nothing works out I have a question about nRF5 SDK v16.0.0: Can I use DVK-BL652 with nRF5 SDK v16.0.0?

After finding no solution, I switched from Eclipse Kepler to SES. This resolves all errors. So I would prefer to use SES.
