Can I send data from nRF9160 DK to cloud(Adafruit) using the MQTT example via the GSM SIM800A module? Because NB-IoT not supported in my area.

Hi All

We are using nRF9160DK and want to send data to the cloud (Adafruit or Thingspeak) using MQTT protocol but we do not have NB-IoT

Network in Our area so it's possible to complete this task via GSM sim800A module.

So my query is

What are the changes in the MQTT sample example? like parameter and apn because i am using Airtel simcard so

 Changes from what? You are talking about the mqtt_simple sample in ncs/nrf/samples/nrf9160 correct?

Yes exactly.

My query is I am using airtel Simcard with GSM Module(SIM800A) because NB-IoT network does not support in my area

and also use adafruit cloud for sending data so confused about where do I changes in MQTT_SIMPLE sample example

Hi! 

Unfortunately, we don't provide support on protocols that Nordic does not support and we only support NB-IoT and LTE-M with the nRF9160. 

On another note, I recommend you go for a cheaper kit than the nRF91 DK, if you're not going to use the radio on it.
