high-Q BAW filter?

I am considering using a high-Q BAW filter to drive as near the band edges as possible and roll-off noise beyond.

Source of my interest:

Qorvo says they've shipped many 'millions' of these filters... but I'm having a very difficult time finding any radio modules that contain the part or anyone that has experience with them.

Has anyone implemented a high-Q BAW filter with the nRF52 series radios successfully?

  • This filter is intended to attenuate noise close to the 2.4 GHz band that can have impact on the receiver performance, particularly blocking. This is typically LTE transmitters etc.

To be able to attenuate signals from the transmitter at the band edge, just 1 or 2 MHz away, you'd need an incredible sharp filter. Unfortunately, this doesn't exist.

The only remedy for using channels near the band edge is to lower the output power until you pass, use channels further from the band edge or lower the bandwidth (data rate).
