Can I use 24L01 for TX and 52811 for Rx to realize AOA positioning?

Which TX chips can realize AOA?

  • Hi,

Certainly 24L01 can generate a signal with constant tone (all 1's) that can be received by 52811. Keep in mind that it works only with Nordic's proprietary mode (160 kHz deviation @1Mbps) that is not supported by DFE, though apparently it may work. Probably, an accuracy of such solution will be poor because of higher phase jitter. I can't see any reasons to even try it... why not to take another 52811 for TX?

  • The radio on the nRF24L01 doesn't support AOA. Even sending a continuous tone 1 as suggested by Dmitry wouldn't work.

The AOA AOD support on the NRF52811 and nRF52833 require a different radio hardware that the nRF24 or even the nRF52832 doesn't have.

Please use the nRF52811 or nRF52833 for the TX part.
