Nordic - printed antenna and impedance matching circuit

Theranica  current solution already has a printed MIFA antenna and an impedance matching circuit that they have tested and is working very well.

they  would like to keep using their existing antenna and would like to know which impedance matching circuit to use.

Thernica current matching circuit and antenna are:

  • Hi,

They need to use the 0,8pF and 3,9nH components, because they are part of the radio matching network of the nRF52 (not the antenna matching network).

In general a good designed MIFA antenna is already matched to 50 ohms, so if they don't plan on changing the ground plane between the two boards considerably they can use the same antenna design. The schematics will then look like the second picture you attached.

    Best regards,
