Are 0402 sized components required

The reference designs and sample layout use 0402 sized components in the RF section. Are 0402 sized components required or can 0603 sized components be used? I'm trying to avoid using 0402 sized components.

At these frequencies, small changes can have an effect and there are so many variables.

You will likely need to tune the RF section anyway due to differences in PCB, plastics etc.

We recommend to use 0402 due to parasitic effects and performance changes between component sizes- As @Charles states above, using different size component will change the performance and you might have to tune the RF section.
