Using Particle Boron as a Gateway for a mesh network

Hi there,

I'm trying to use the aws_fota example with nrf9160 and AWS and it works fine. The problem is that in my country we don't have LTE-M, so we decided to use a 2g/3g gateway. We defined the Particle Boron as the hardware platform. I'm trying to use the same project AWS_FOTA but chaning the board to BORON, but I can't run the project becuase is asking me to include libraries that are just used for the nrf9160. Is it posible to change the configuration of the project to make it works?. If not, is it possible to use mqtt_publisher?. How?.

It may seem as you want to use code written for nRF9160 devices on a third party ic? This seems to be in violation with the license for the nRF SDK:

"This software, with or without modification, must only be used with a Nordic Semiconductor ASA integrated circuit."

Or have I misunderstood?

In any case I think we will only be supporting the nRF9160.

Hi Kenneth,

We don't want to break the license agreement. What we want is just to use the Boron board because it is based on nrf52840 and is supported by zephyr as well. All that we want is to connect, using 2g or 3g to the AWS IoT platform using MQTT as established per AWS. Is it possible?.
