nRF916 DK cannot connect to LTE network

Hi,

I got a brand new nRF916 DK. I updated the modem firmware to mfw_nrf9160_1.1.0 and updated the application firmware Asset tracker with nrf9160dk_asset_tracker_nbiot_legacy_pco_2019-11-29_d3130d77.hex on the website. the Sim-card is also registered 

nRF Cloud Certificate is also updated with ok response but the DK is not able to connect to LTE network. My LTE Link monitor looks like this:

Can somebody please tell me what ist the problem.

Which mode do you use LTE-M or NB-IoT?

have you seen LTE-M or NB-IoT infrastructure in your region?

Thank you for answering me. I don't know how to choose the mode. I just started with this DKit.

But I live in Germany, where both LTE-M and NB-IoT are deployed arccording to your link.

Try using AT host example and check UICC, LTE and PDN boxes are turns green or not.

Hier is how it looks like. LTE Box blinks between red and yellow. Where to find this AT host example?

you can find example in ncs/nrf/samples/nRF9160/at_client  or you can directly load the hex

7563.merged.hex

After load just write command

AT+CFUN=1

AT+CFUN? for modem initialize

Hi Nikunj,

Thank you for the answer. I try to run the program and after really Long time PDN Box is still red and LTE box blinks between red and yellow. I used nRF Connect-Programmer to add HEX file and write this in nRF9160.

According to this iBasis provides limited range in Germany. Verify that you are in coverage or not.

If you are in coverage then,

start modem and send command in following order,

AT+CFUN=4

AT%XSYSTEMMODE=1,0,1,0      (To switch into LTE-M mode)

AT+CFUN=1

AT+CFUN?
