nRF9160 NB IoT

We were evaluating nRF9160 for IoT project. Wanted to know more about NB IoT

1: Does NB IoT support both 4G and 5G?

2: I have the following understanding , please correct me if I am wrong:

A: nRF9160 works on LTE-M and NB-IoT, LTE-M is only 4G and NB IoT is only 5G network

B: Only change in the firmware is required to operate in LTE-M or NB IoT and no change in hardware is necessary

Hi Amit,

1. NB-IoT is supported in both "4G" and "5G". 

A: not correct. nRF9160 supports LTE-M and NB-IoT and both technologies are supported in 4G and 5G. (please check the links that Nikunj posted)

B: The modem Firmware in nrf9160 supports LTE-M, NB-IoT, and GPS and you can switch between them in your application.
