Hi! We were wondering if the Nordic Thingy 91 has an IP-rating? How resistant is it to humidity and could it be deployed in remote locations such as a forest for a prolonged period of time?

Hi,
Thingy:52 and Thingy:91 do not have any IP grading. If graded I would expect them both to get IP20 (resistant to objects of finger size or larger, and no resistance to liquids). They are relatively open to the environment, which is important for some of the sensors to work (e.g. humidity sensor.)
If you want to place them in an outdoors environment, especially if it is for days or weeks, I would enclose them in an IP rated box of the required grade. The same goes for any outdoors placement for even the shortest amount of time in rainfall or wet environments. Some of the sensors needs exposure to the atmosphere, and so that is a design consideration for any enclosure.
