Regarding Bluetooth 5.1 Development board.

Hello team,

I want to work on the AoA and AoD features of Bluetooth 5.1 technology. I come across the device call nRF52840 DK. but I am confused about whether it serves my purpose. Can you please guide me to choose the correct development board in order to learn and develop the AoA and AoD feature of Bluetooth 5.1. It will be appreciated if you provide me any contact details of the local distributors in India. Thank you.

  • Hi

got a lot of stuff correct here, but I'd like to clarify a few things. First off, we do have the nRF52833 DK, where the chip itself is compatible with direction-finding. However, you would need an antenna array supporting direction finding in addition to the DK, something that we do not provide at this time. It's also correct that we do not have the software support for direction finding yet, so you will have to do that part yourself as well.

You can contact your regional sales manager for more information and a roadmap on if and when these features will be supported by Nordic. If you don't have their contact information, please use our "Sales related questions" contact form to get in touch.

    Best regards,

    Simon
