Not Able to Connect with IBasis NB-IOT Network with nRF9160 DK .

Hello guys,

For last couples of Days, we were trying to connect with IBasis NB-IOT Network with nRF9160 DK.

But not able to connect it .Please see below Snap Short for your reference.

Please help me the following :

1. How Can I Check if NB-IOT Network is available or not in My Area (Texas, US) ?

2. How to Connect with NB-IOT Network ?

3. what does this error means , when i run following command :

Error: AT+CEREG failed: phone failure

Please help me out so that i can start my Development work.

Hello AG, 

First of all, please update your modem FW as I see you have an older version. Please download the latest modem FW (mfwnrf9160110.zip) included in the nRF9160 SiP application firmware package and follow these instructions.

What application are you running on your device? Please update this as well in the Programmer app, you can try with the AT client provided in the same package: images_full\nrf9160dk_at_client_2019-11-29_d3130d77.hex. 

The provided image from LTE Link Monitor shows that you have connection with the network, so it should work with an updated modem FW and application. 

Edit: You can see network coverage via GSMA Deployment map and iBasis IoT network coverage.

3. what does this error means , when i run following command :

Error: AT+CEREG failed: phone failure

What command did you run? 

 

Please help me out so that i can start my Development work.

What have you done so far? Have you used the Getting Started Assistant found in nRF Connect for Desktop? Please use this to install toolchain and environment, then go through the NCS Getting Started Guide, where Building and programming a sample application tells you how to start with our samples.
