reducing power consumption during BLE scan

We're using the nRF52840 in our product.

We require to perform continuous scanning, with little power usage as possible.

We've seen in the Nordic specs and verified with measurements that scan consumes an average of 10 mA w/ DC/DC converter active and 6.5 mA w/o,

this is too much for our battery capacity and expected lifetime, and are looking for ways to reduce that average current, and/or reduce the overall mA/h used by the system.

Please provide ways, if exist.

We're open to anything - modify scan parameters, MCU parameters (clock freq, ...), HW tweaks and modifications, etc.

  • we need continuous scanning, so is there a point in modifying the window or interval, if eventually the scan will remain continuous? From the link you sent I cannot find anything to help us reduce the accumulated current consumption of a continuous scan.
As I mentioned, we did measure the current consumption, as well as verify our measurements with the spec.
