OTA upgrade for only application via network

Hello,

I sae that there is the possibility to upgrade the modem via FOTA/OTA application (for example asset_tracker), now without touching the modem could be possible to upgrade a new version of the program running on a board remotely ? 

Do  a piece of code exist to include in the application?

Hello, 

I'm not sure I understand your question. Can you please elaborate?

Modem FW updates will be possible OTA with minor releases, while major releases must be done via the programming app in nRF Connect for Desktop. As far as I know, OTA is not implemented yet.

For application FOTA, please have look at AWS_FOTA and HTTP Application download. Note that these are for application only, not modem.

I have an application similar to asset_tracker running on Thingy:91 that to do something. I like to update this app by itself (part of the program) downloading new version via network (i.e. stored in a server) and restart with the parameter stored in the NVS/SIP NOR memory attached to the board. How can do it?

My apologies for the late reply.

Yes, updating the application FW is fully possible. Have a look at our AWS_FOTA sample or HTTP Application update, both are intended for this usage. They use MCUBoot for FOTA, which generates an image to download and update the device with.
