nRF Tool box 2.8.1 stops with “Unfortunately, nRF Toolbox has stopped.”

I have been using nRF Toolbox –DFU to reflash my project. I am using an Android tablet version 6.0.1.  This process was working very nicely.

On 2/5/2020 the tablet updated the Toolbox to version 2.8.1 and now I always get “Unfortunately, nRF Toolbox has stopped.” whenever I press the scan or connect button using ANY of the options.

The previous version would show all Bluetooth devices within radio range. The setting for the Toolbox app include location, pair with Bluetooth devices and access Bluetooth settings.

I suspect a problem in the latest update. Can I revert to the previous version?

  • Hi,

Thank you very much for looking into this for me.  The 2.8.2 version does allow me to scan for and fine my target device.  It would not however open the zip file, so I was not able to update the target.  I went back to the 2.7.3 version and that does work as before using the zip file that the 2.8.2 version would not.  Do I need an update to the zip file creation program?  I am using SDK  15.0.0.  Thanks again!
