How to set device name in nRF51822 using AT command?

I tried setting the name as AT+NAME=LGS\r\n

When I send AT+NAME?\r\n, I do read back the new name, i.e. LGS.

However, the bluetooth host continues to see my device as BT600 (default/old name).

Nordic does not provide any Bluetooth AT command library for nRF51/nRF52. You should contact the authors of the AT command library you are using. Since you are using BT600, I guess the author of this library is Fanstel.
