Mapping HWID to revision information

This thread provides some references for those of us who need to have firmware that runs on multiple releases, but don't necessarily know what revisions are in the field. Unfortunately, the new release 2.0 of nWP-21 removes all the tables with HWID to build code, tested versions, and other useful information.

Will that material be re-appearing in a new white paper, preferably with more complete information? Please?

  • Yes; the weakness is that HWID actually varies with build code, and the table is incomplete. See footnote a in each table.

For example, the document provides only the value for QFACA0 (0x0085). QFACA1 has HWID 0x0086, which is not listed. One of our developers is seeing HWID 0x0058 on a part that's known to be QFAA, but we can't tell from the table which build it is and therefore which revision it is and the product anomalies affecting it. (He was able to open the product and inspect the label on the IC, but in general that's not feasible, and I don't remember what he said it was.)
