What type of cable is required for the debug out, P19?

The specs for the port only say the number of pins, but not the pitch https://infocenter.nordicsemi.com/topic/ug_nrf52840_dk/UG/nrf52840_DK/hw_debug_out.html

That cable fits on the debug out for the DK, thanks again!

I had previously got a Plug-Of-Nails cable to connect to the Dongle: https://www.digikey.com/product-detail/en/tag-connect-llc/TC2050-IDC-NL/TC2050-IDC-NL-ND/2605367

This has the larger 10 pin connection on the other side, so only connects to the dongle and the new cable only connects to the DK, I am thinking of just cutting them in half and joining - do you think this would be OK?

Hopefully I am not asking too much of a dumb question - I am a software engineer, but have never done any full hardware programming before!

Sorry just saw this now.  Yes your question makes sense as I have encountered this problem too.  We made a small PCBA adapter to allow us to easily connect the two cables together.

Nice to know I wasn't missing something obvious, I may just have to bite the bullet and buy a full programmer.

Even if you buy a programmer you will still need an adaptor but those can be purchased.
