I can compile and run the beacon example in long range mode but advertising packets are not being received by any app on my mobile phone. Is there an app that's written for long range mode? If not, what is entailed in writing our own?

Hi Anthony
Do you know if your phone supports the long range mode?
Up until recently very few phones had support for this.
This blog has a list of phones that are known to support long range/coded phy (as of 3 months ago):
https://devzone.nordicsemi.com/f/nordic-q-a/33060/is-there-any-smartphone-with-supporting-of-bluetooth-5-long-range-feature
If you do have one of these phones you should be able to read long range advertising packets using the nRF Connect app.
Best regards
Torbjørn
