IP Address of Nordic Cloud.

Hi Team,

I am in the UK and trying to get an evaluation sim from Vodafone for NB-IoT. However they have set a limit of 2 IP addresses and hence I need the IP address of the Nordic Coud.

I have done a dig request on nrfcloud.com however it has come back with different IPs on different occasions:

nrfcloud.com.		59	IN	A	13.226.15.63
nrfcloud.com.		59	IN	A	13.226.15.84
nrfcloud.com.		59	IN	A	13.226.15.107
nrfcloud.com.		59	IN	A	13.226.15.19

nrfcloud.com.          60      IN      A 143.204.202.2
nrfcloud.com.          60      IN      A 143.204.202.30
nrfcloud.com.          60      IN      A 143.204.202.63
nrfcloud.com.          60      IN      A 143.204.202.72

Please could you tell me what the IP address is that the Nordic Thingy:91 uses to connect with the nrfcloud to so that I can get an evaluation sim.

Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee that the IP you use to connect to nrfcloud.com will stay the same. I would recommend that you open a dialog with your carrier and ask about how this scenario should be handled on a larger time scale perspective.

On the larger time scale there will not be any limitation to the number of IPs that the device can connect to, however for the evaluation sim there is. Is there no specific IP that is used in the UK/ EU for which does not change. Sorry, I thought you wanted this in general, as a guarantee.

yes; that would work for evaluation.

 

Remember to wrap the IP in quotes:

CONFIG_NRF_CLOUD_STATIC_IPV4_ADDR="52.87.36.155"

Sorry Hakon, I am still a bit confused. The problem is that the sims come pre-configured with only 2 IP addresses. Which is the best one to choose, 143.204.202.2 or 13.226.15.63 or 52.87.36.155? I guess the nrfcloud.com domain is a leased based IP, so it will just keep changing, in which case it may change before the sim even gets delivered to us?

Sorry for the late reply. I checked with a colleague of mine that has done testing in places where dns isn't available. He gave me these three:

Lookup IPv4 Address: 34.196.63.37
Lookup IPv4 Address: 52.203.52.208
Lookup IPv4 Address: 52.86.193.227
