EUI64 derivation from DEVADDR0/1

Hi,

I can able to get the DEVADDR0 and DEVADDR1. I am not able to make out How this EUI64 id is calculated using the DEVADDDR value.

I always get F4CE36 starting numbers in EUI64 id. Why it is happening.

Exmple: I got my

DEVADDR0 = 0x3F946fe8

DEVADDR1 = 0x5b26c0a6

EUI64 = f4ce36e86f943fa6

Does any one have idea about this.

Hi,

The IEEE EUI-64 address consist of two parts:

- 24 bits of MA-L (MAC address block large), formely called OUI (Organizationally Unique Identifier).

- 40-bits device unique identifier.

By default, the device uses Nordic Semiconductor's MA-L (fa-ce-36). You can modified it by overwriting 'OPENTHREAD_CONFIG_STACK_VENDOR_OUI' define, located in 'openthread-core-nrf52xxx-config.h" file, but this value must be publicly registered by the IEEE Registration Authority.

Ok. Great. I would like to go ahead with fa-ce-36 + 40 bits.

For any time fa-ce-36 will not change until I use Nordic Semi radios. Correct.

Yes. The 'fa-ce-36' value will not change as long as you don't modify the 'OPENTHREAD_CONFIG_STACK_VENDOR_OUI' define with another value registered by the IEEE Registration Authority.

just to clarify it is indeed f4-ce-36 not fa that it starts with. Please correct the response above.
