GPS latch issue(nrf9160 +Internal)

Hi All,

 I am working on nRF9160 GPS profile. built the code with Segger version 4.16 and updated the latest mfw_nrf9160_1.1.1 modem firmware.

when i compile try to catch the logs on link monitor serial terminal observed that device is not locking to GPS location its keeps on running in scan mode.followed the steps give in in below link.

Also attached the log file for your reference. please suggest. We do not have sim connected and hope it does not make difference2020-03-02T09_18_25.803Z-log_GPS.txt to latch GPS network.

Hi Pavan,

Correct, you do not need a SIM card to get a GPS fix.

What hardware are you working with? A custom board, nRF91DK or the Thingy:91?

Either way, I recommend using an external antenna for the best performance and you should also have the device in an open area or at least outside a window since gathering GPS data from satellites can be quite sensitive, so if you have many restrictions between the device and the satellites you may not get a fix.
