nRF91 with R&S BTS(Bast Station Simulator)

Hi,

Do you guys test the the nRF91 modem with any kind of Bast Station Simulator? since i dont have any CatM1/NB network in my region most of the time i need to rely on R&S CMW500 call box.

I was wondering how i can test the sample application "http_application_update" which need access to a public internet.

Regards

KK

  • different kinds of base station simulators

Martin - Can you please name other simulator you use? we are looking to buy a SDR box like (PICO BTS, AMARI Callbox etc..) which are of lowcost and scalable, if you can name one which you been using that gives me confidence to make a procurement, and the CMW call box which i use is bit expensive and it doesn't support multiple UEs.

CMW is good for RF related testing not for application end.

    thanks in advance

    regards

  • Hi KK,

We mainly use the R&S CMW500, so I'm unable to give advice on other solutions, unfortunately. We haven't looked deep into using other SDR boxes / hardware yet, but there are promising solutions out there. I would recommend that you contact companies that provide such services, and have support for LTE-M1 and NB-IoT, and ask them for a quote.

Standalone SDR hardware would require such software as openair-cn + openairinterface5g (or other lte eNB software solutions), which isn't straight-forward to setup manually.
