Do I need to backup UICR before erasing?

I see that the UICR on the nRF52840 contains reserved space for Nordic. If I am not using a soft device should we still backup and restore this space before/after an erase operation? Is there anything helpful in there?

If you are not using the softdevice then you can use the UICR as you best see fit. Though be aware that you can't erase UICR from the MCU internally, only externally (SWD).
