What is the current consumption of the nRF52840 USB Dongle?

Dear All,

I am trying to measure the current consumption for the nRF52840 USB Dongle. I intend to use it as a beaconing device and attach it to a battery.

At the moment I am measuring 13-15μΑ between the pulses (I am beaconing at 1 s interval). With similar configuration I see only 2-3μΑ on a nRF52832 custom device.

I am using the s140_nrf52_7.0.1_softdevice.hex.

Is it reasonable to see such difference between the 52840 dongle and a custom nrf52832 board, that are running essentially the same code?

I am measuring the current consumption by using an OTII device applying 3.3 Volts on the VDD OUT pin.

Thank you very much for your assistance.
