I've just tried to compile and run the stock lpcomp example on two different computers, targetting an off-the-shelf 52840 dev board. It compiles, and starts fine, but doesn't ever seem to get an interrupt. I wondered if someone else might compile and run to see if it works for them. It appears not to enter the interrupt routine. Other stuff works perfectly.
