nRF5340 GPIO Recommended Usage Near Radio

Hi team,

Similar to how we have recommendations to use certain pins for low drive, low frequency on the nRF52 series, do we have those recommendations available for the nRF5340? I was not able to find this information in the nRF5340 OPS.

  • Hi Akash

This is something we normally do some testing on. We toggle the GPIOs while the RX is operating. The sensitivity is measured and plotted vs the frequency on the GPIO and which GPIO that's toggling.

For the nRF5340, we haven't tested this yet. It's due in 3 to 6 weeks I'm told. But in general, the GPIOs on the same side as the radio (can) have more impac and the further away you get, the less impact they have. For the nRF5340, we assume the effect and the limitations are the same as on the nRF52 series.

    cheers,

    Ketil
