Reference Circuit Inductor Murata LQP15MN3N9B02D is NRND (not recommended for new designs)

Hi,

it came to my attention that the inductor Murata LQP15MN3N9B02D (3.9nH) that is used in the antenna matching circuit of the nrf52832 reference design has become NRND https://www.murata.com/en-eu/products/productdetail?partno=LQP15MN3N9B02%23. It looks like the whole LQP15 product range is now not recommended for new designs.

I couldn't find a obvious successor product on the Murata website. What would you recommend as future replacement?

Hi,

Any high frequency +-5 % chip inductor that has a self resonant frequency > ~5 GHz should be good. You should re-do measurements of harmonics and output power after changing the inductor as there can be a slight difference even when the changed component is  the equal size.

Hi Jared,

redoing measurements of harmonics is something I would like to avoid. Therefore I wondered whether there is a Murata part family that is most likely to have a very similar behavior or whether you could tell me if Nordic has already decided which part series will be used in the future in the reference designs. At the moment the EOL of this part seems some years away, so let's see what happens.

Hi,

I understand, unfortunately i'm not aware of any decisions of what components that will be used in future reference designs. I therefore can't recommend  a component that wouldn't require re-testing.
