nRF24LU1 GPIO/SPI pins maximum current

Goodmorning,

what is the maxium current output for SPI pins on the nRF24LU1? The datasheet say "IVDD External load current" of 2mA, is this refered to the internal regulator or is it refered to the maximum current for I/O pins?

The purpouse is to run some photocoupler with SPI pins.

Hi,

 

If you plan to draw more than 2 mA, I recommend that you use a mosfet or similar to switch in the load. The GPIOs aren't very strong on the nRF24L-series devices.
