Can we communicate with 2 nRF9160 DK's without using SIM

Hi Team,

We are using nRF9160 DK without sim. We would like to connect to the other nRF9160 without BLE. Is it possible?

As we use SIM for only authentication right, is there a chance to bypass that and make the 2 nRF9160 DK's communicate with each other without using the SIM. 

Here are my 2 questions 

--> Can we communicate with 2 devices without using SIM?

--> Is there any application like RADIO testing/ DTM for nRF9160?

Can we communicate with 2 devices without using SIM?

The device supports NB1 and LTE-M, and both these requires registration to a eNB. So, no, that is not possible.

 

Is there any application like RADIO testing/ DTM for nRF9160?

There is no dedicated application, like DTM for bluetooth LE devices, but there is a specific AT command for evaluating RF PHY.
