how to reset jlink firmware

Today i received my brand new 2 pieces of nrf51-dks. when i wanted to try out some of the examples, i tried to copy over the .hex file to the usb drive, but for some reason the drive disconnected and as far as i could see the example was not flashed to the nrf. so i tried in retrospect something stupid, i pressed the boot/reset button while powering on the nrf51-dk, and it gave me a slightly different usb drive, with a file `bootload.htm` and a `System Volume Information` directory. copying over the example to this drive did not disconnect the drive immediately, instead after quite some time i got a "cp: error writing '/mnt/nrf51422_xxac.hex': No space left on device" message. and after rebooting, not even LD5 lights up, irrespective if and how long i am pressing reset/boot while powering on. i suspect instead of writing to the nrf i actually overwrote the jlink firmware with the example. i do have one other nrf51-dk which is still working in case that might come handy in recovering the bricked one. can you give advice how to fix this? btw i'm running linux, i have no mac neither windows... i'm comfortable with my black magic jtag probe and have lots of experience with arm cortex-m3 systems.

thanks for any insights,
