TI SWRA117D Antenna Design for NRF52810 (Kicad)?

 Hi,

New user here, I develop using Kicad and it has an antenna based on the Ti SWRA117D design, which is 2.4GHz.

Can I confirm I only need two components (as per reference design) plus this antenna? The alternative TI devices use a lot more inductors/capacitors in the antenna design and I worry I'm missing something!

Cheers,

Andrew

  • The 50 ohm "interface" between the antenna and the radio's matching network is between L44 and the antenna. The components to the right, L22 and C7 in this design, are specific to the device. Different radios used different numbers of components here.

The antenna may or may not need tuning components. The SWRA117D seems to be designed to be 50 ohm when done correctly. So you should be able to place the antenna directly to L44, as you have it now.
