Okay, so I opened up my Segger Embedded Studio today. Oh, there's an upgrade--quite a few versions. Oh, that's just ducky. Click on upgrade link and get taken to:
https://www.segger.com/downloads/embedded-studio/
Okaaaay, now I've been down this road before and I *KNOW* that Nordic used to have it's own version of SES, so I go hunt the links on the Nordic website:
https://www.nordicsemi.com/Software-and-Tools/Development-Tools/Segger-Embedded-Studio
Lots of stuff and "SEGGER Embedded Studio must be downloaded directly from SEGGER." Same link as above. Oh, I guess they fixed that whole custom SES thing. Cool.
Install. Look for "Open nRF Connect SDK Project". Not there. Here we go again. Go through the full nRF Connect "Getting Started Assistant" and find:
"Download SEGGER Embedded Studio" with the following link:
https://www.segger.com/downloads/embedded-studio/embeddedstudio_arm_nordic_macos
Folks, this is kind of important. There should be *GIGANTIC* red klaxons warning people that they need the custom version of SES. Everywhere. No download links under Nordic control should ever *NOT* go to the custom version.
Please fix this mess. While it simply annoys me, it will stop newbies in their tracks.
Thanks.
