nRF9160 Modem FW update v1.2.0 performance

Hi,

I have noticed ever since I updated my nRF9160 DK modem firmware to the latest version v1.2.0 frequent registration dropouts and very sluggish MQTT performance.

My 30 second watchdog is even kicking in on occasion when trying to establish a MQTT connection.

My CESQ is still similar to before:  +CESQ: 99,99,255,255,12,48

Network provider Verizon US.

Just wondering if this is a coincidence or if anybody else is experiencing similar issues. Are there any changes that I am not taking into account?

I am also getting a lot of CEREG URC's with the tac and cellid changing between "+CEREG: 1,"FFFE","FFFFFFFF",7,,,"11100000","00100110" and valid tac's / cellid's. This happened on occasion before the update but is happening very regularly now.  Unfortunately I can't downgrade the FW to compare performance.

Hello,

you shouldn't use modem firmware v1.2 with a Verizon SIM. Here's the compatibility matrix that shows which operators are certified in which modem firmware releases. As can be seen from the table, Verizon is certified in v1.0.1, v1.0.3, v1.1.1.

I was unaware of that matrix. Apart from checking that infocentre page is there any other way of being notified when FW gets certified for use by networks?

Is there an ETA on v1.2.x and Verizon certification? v1.2.0 addresses some serious socket issues that we need in our release.
