nRF Thread Topology Monitor v0.1.3.0

Hi there,

I'm having an issue trying to get Thread Topology monitor to work.

After loading CLI uart example either into PCA10059 or PCA10056

COM port shows up on TTM, click scan and this happens:

15:01:14.181 Boot up Thread Topology Monitor
15:01:15.720 Serial port COM15 has been successfully opened.
15:01:17.810 Successfully verified Thread CLI device.
15:01:17.812 Configuring Thread CLI device..
15:01:17.930 Successfully configured Thread CLI device. Joining to the network..
15:01:20.980 Successfully joined to the network.
15:01:39.983 Error - No response from Thread CLI device.
15:01:56.983 Error - No response from Thread CLI device.

For PCA10056 I am using this FW, and programming using nrfjprog:

nRF5_SDK_for_Thread_and_Zigbee_v4.1.0_32ce5f8\examples\thread\cli\ftd\uart\hex\nrf52840_xxaa_pca10056.hex

For PCA10059 I am using this FW and programming via NCS Programmer:

nRF5_SDK_for_Thread_and_Zigbee_v4.1.0_32ce5f8\examples\thread\cli\ftd\usb\hex\nrf52840_xxaa_mbr_pca10059.hex

  • Hello, what did you mean by "tested with the firmware"?,I found the hex file in the package but i dont understand how to proceed further as I'm facing the same error.

  • You need to program the hex-file to the Dongle/DK, as described in the documentation: Connecting to a Thread topology

  • Thankyou for the response, I was able to solve the issue.I was successful in establishing a mesh topology among my boards, but when im transmitting data from one router to another ,im not receiving any sort of prompt of log info regarding the transmission on my topology monitor.can you please help?

  • The Topology monitor will not show any information about transmissions between routers or end nodes in the network. As the name suggests, this tool will only show the Topology of the network. If you want to see packet exchange between nodes, you need to use the nRF Sniffer for 802.15.4.

  • Hello, thanks for the response.

I have a question regarding the powering of the nrf board.Im powering my nrf board with the solar power manager and i was thinking of adding a battery gauge(lipo fuel gauge) to this setup. Is it possible to do this with nrf52833dk?

ps:Im trying to create a new ticket, but i dont know why that page of your site is always freezing on my pc.
