nRF chip Pin configuration details.

Hi,

 

I am using nRF52840 and nRF52832.

 

1) I am seeing below statement in Product specification of nRF52840 under section “7.1 Pin assignments”. What does this mean. Can you please give more inputs.

    “This device provides flexibility when it comes to routing and configuration of the GPIO pins.”

 

2) Whether the same feature is available in nRF52832.

Hi,

The nRF5 series ICs have a pin-crossbar feature, allowing any GPIO to be assigned to any serial peripheral. Many other ICs have fixed/limited GPIO mapping for SPI/I2C/UART, etc. This feature makes it easier for board designers, as pins can be moved around in order to simplify the board layout.

All nRF51, nRF52, and nRF53 series chips has this feature.
