Flashing Custom board with nRF52840 chip

Hello,

 

I am using nRF52840, SDK_16.0.0, SoftDevice S140 V7.0.1 and Segger for flashing the image. I am using ‘ble_app_blinky’.

 

1) Previously we had a custom board with nRF52832. To flash that we are using another nRF52832 Development kit. Now we have custom board with nRF52840. Using nRF52832 DK whether we can flash custom board with nRF52840.

a) If not do we need to use nRF52840 DK even to flash custom board with nRF52840.

 

2) Are there any connection layout details, on how to connect nRF52840 DK to custom board with nRF52840 chip.

Hi,

The nRF52840 works the same way as the nRF52832 for programming, and so for the connection layout details they are the same. (Use the pin assignments for the nRF52840 to figure out what exact pin is SWDIO, SWDCLK, etc.)

Programming should work from any nRF5x DK debug out port. Please note that the on-board SEGGER programmer on our DKs is licensed for development usage only, and not for production.
