"Cannot read property 'comName' of undefined" on Thingy:91 in nRF Connect Programmer

I followed the instructions "Programming applications through USB" to update the firmware on the nRF52840 SoC. I pushed down the SW4, switched on power, released SW4. "No devices available" changes to "Select device" in nRF Connect Programmer. When selecting the device in the dropdown I get the following error:

Error while setting up device 0.01: Cannot read property 'comName' of undefined

When updating firmware for nRF9160 SiP, everything works according to documentation. I can update the firmware in  nRF52840 SoC on the Thingy:91 with nRF 91 DK without errors..

Versions: nRF Connect v.3.3.3, Programmer 1.4.2, macOS Catalina

Yes, there is an issue that our team is working on. However, the current work-around is to use mcumgr as described in this tutorial. See Updating FW.

Nothing new yet, but I will try to keep you updated. Unfortunately, I don't have a timeline.
