nRF52840 USB PHY feedback signal what power source is connected

What are my options with nRF52840 to get from the built in USB and available SDK feedback regarding connected device in order to adjust charging power?

There are plenty of battery charger ICs that get feedback from USB PHY what are the power capabilities of the source currently connected to the USB port – if it is a standard USB host battery charger IC work in 500mA (or 100 mA) mode, if it is wall adapter – pulls the max. …

Thanks

  • Hi Jared,

Sorry, some misunderstanding happens – I’m not interested in what currents nRF52840 consumes from VBUS line, but if nRF52840 could detect what is attached to USB port ( a host or a power adapter) and what power providing capabilities as per USB-IF Battery Charging specification it has?

Short  resume on one of the possible ways I found here:

“… device, on seeing VBUS must apply 0.6V on D+ and a current sink on D-, and if it sees 0.6V coming back on D- then it knows that it may draw up to 1.5A. “

     Thanks
