  • Hi,

That would be to check to see if the board is physically powered, e.g. that VDD has correct voltage.

Another indication the board is powered is LED5 is on (next to the chip with the "pca10056" sticker on. That chip is the programmer / interface mcu.)

Please note that there are several switches on the board, controlling power. On/off switch in bottom left corner turns the board on/off. "nRF power source" switch on left side lets you select what power source to use, and the switch along the top edge to the right of all the headers lets you switch between powering only the nRF and powering buttons/leds/etc. on the board itself as well.

There are also two USB connections: The one on the left (short) edge is for connecting the DK to the pc (for programming, for debugging, general use of the DK. This is the one you should use. It gives power to the board when "nRF power source" is set to "VDD".) The one on the bottom (between buttons and reset button) is for connecting USB directly to the nRF52840 and cannot be used for programming the DK without prior preparation.

For full info on the different switches, power sources, etc. on the DK, please have a look at the nRF52840 DK user guide.

  • I have 2 complaint DK's. One is working by connecting usb (between buttons and reset button) and the other usb, power source to USB position and VEXT-ON position, and able to program my board, but after sometimes LED5   blinks continuously stops working..

The other DK is not responding in anyways.

  • Hi,

Please set the switches and connect to the board as shown in this image:

Then test the board using the Blinky Example.

How does each of the two boards behave in this situation?

    Regards,
    Terje
