QSPI Pin Assignment on nRF52840

Dear Sirs, good night

Currently developing hardware using nRF52840 based module (BT840X from Fanstel)

Wanted to ask if following assignment would be OK for controlling the a NOR flash (the flash is the same as the one available in the DK):

P0.16	QSCLK
P0.14	QSCS
P0.20	QSIO0
P0.21	QSIO1
P1.09/TRACEDATA3	QSIO2
P0.12/TRACEDATA1	QSIO3

The reason to use other pins rather than the ones in the DK is because some of the pins are used to control an internal power amplifier available in the module.

Any other recomendations for layout?

Hi,

 

As far as the nRF52840 goes, you should try to avoid the pins that are denoted as 'low frequency, standard drive' as these toggling during radio operation can affect certain parametres. https://infocenter.nordicsemi.com/topic/ps_nrf52840/pin.html?cp=4_0_0_6_0

Other than that no, unless there is anything on the module that prevents you from using certain pins.
