Can anyone help me to clarify the concept of the isochronous channel?

Dear All:

I encounter some difficulties when i read the Bluetooth_5.2_Feature_Overiew document

The document said isochronous communication uses the new LE Isochronous Physical Channel.   As far as i know there are 40 physical channels for BLE, and 3 adv channels and 37 connection channels. So what physical channels are for isochronous channel?

          Thanks in advance.

  • Hello,

There is an external content creator that is quite good, NovelBits. I don't know if you have seen this one, but you may find it useful:

    https://www.novelbits.io/bluetooth-version-5-2-le-audio/

The short answer is that BLE audio is in the making, but currently it is not ready from Bluetooth. Only half of the Audio specification is decided, so currently audio over BLE is not possible.

I am not sure specifically what parts of the BLE Audio specification that is done and not, so how this would be done with the isochronous channels I am not sure. Perhaps it will be certain channels used, but since it has to be compliant with the older BLE spec, I assume they will not take certain channels and use it only for this.

    Best regards,

    Edvin
