nRF5340 IO mapping and connection to nRF9160

I'm working on a new nRF5340 project where this will be the main application processor. The target system will support a large variety of sensors, and we expect to use a very large part of the nRF5340's IO bus capability, both for digital GPIO, analog IO and multiple serial buses. 

Could you please point me to tables listing which logical IOs can be mapped to which nRF5340 IO ports? 

A related question: How should an nRF5340 best communicate with an nRF9160? What would be your serial bus of choice, given that the nRF9160 may be power gated and occationally shut down completely while the nRF5340 remains on.

Take a look at the Pin assignments in the Hardware and layout section in the nRF5340 OPS to see the pins you have available for GPIO. Keep in mind that if you are planning to use external 32kHz crystal you cannot use P0.00 and P0.01 as GPIO, the same will apply with all other pins with shared functionality, e.g NFC.

You can use all serial interfaces, it will depend on what kind of data you want to send. UART is probably the easiest to implement.
