New workstation, and suddenly new created DFU zip files are not selectable in nrf Toolbox (it's ok in nRF Connect)

Hey,

I am working on S130, nRF51, been working for a long time with DFU and it was fine both using nRF Connect and nRF Toolbox

Lately I changed my workstation and so installed all the environment again,

Suddenly newly generated zip files are not not selectable in nrf Toolbox (it is working just fine in nRF Connect) 

I have seen this discussion here focusing on problems with mobile operating systems.

But the problem is obviously something that has changed in my PC workstation environment and this also happened with 2 different mobile devices I use.

I have this issue as well.  New version of code to install but it is not "seen" by the app yet both are *.zip
The old version shows in Android file explorer as "Zip archive" the newer version  shows as "File" both were generated by the same developer. The old one was downloaded from Github and the new one from an email.  I have tried two email clients with the same result.  It would seem that the Toolbox is filtering on the buried "type" not the actual file name ending with .zip.  This is very frustrating as you might imagine.  Is there any chance that this will get fixed?  Yes, I've updated to the latest nrf Toolbox.

Hi, it seems like we haven't been able to replicate this ourselves, but I have asked our apps team to look into it again.  Did you try the same with the nRF connect on Android?

Hi Vidar,  nrf Connect worked fine, thankfully.   With nrf Toolbox the .zip extracted from an email was not seen.  It is if nrf Toolbox is looking at the file type set from the download location not the file extension (.zip).

I'm glad you both are able to work around this at least. The developer suspects the problem may be with the way the files are presented to the app. The nRF toolbox app is specifically requesting zip/binary files as can be seen from the implementation here: https://github.com/NordicSemiconductor/Android-nRF-Toolbox/blob/acd2193c1a3763a1644a7ec8fb9a1045bc9b6ccc/app/src/main/java/no/nordicsemi/android/nrftoolbox/dfu/DfuActivity.java#L650 while nRF connect lets you select any file regardless of its file extension.

Now I just have workarounds.
