How to connect nRF52840 to PC

Hi

I was able to successfully complete the RF output power measurement using nRF52840 DK with the help of Nordic devzone last time.

Based on successful measurement, i designed my PCB using nRF52840 dongle reference circuit.

(because max power of nrf52840 is 6dBm, so i add to the FEM on ouput pin of nrf 52840)

 

But unfortunately when i connected to the PC using USB-A,nothing happened.

So i'm looking for nrf52840 dongle to connect to PC but nrt52840 of my reference board was not  connected at all.

and i found that bootloader and MBR exist in the memory map of nRF52840 dongle.

It may be wrong because i don't inderstand it correctly, but i have some question like the below.

Q1. If designed PCB as nRF52840 dongle reference circuit, how can connect nrf52840 to PC ? what neccesary i need ?  (for example, adding bootloader..)

Q2. If it is neccesary to Q1 things. How can i setup to ?

I would really appreciate it if you let me know step by step.

Hi, 

nRF52840 Dongle comes preprogrammed with the attached hex file (pca10059_bootloader.zip), which contains the MBR and Open bootloader with the correct public key. You can also use the Open bootloader example project from the SDK, but it does not include the public key needed to update the bootloader itself over USB DFU. The nRF52840 Dongle is not supported in nrfjprog as it does not have a JLink OB on it, so you will need an external debugger to program it. Please see "Using an external debugger" in the nRF52840 dongle programming tutorial and SWD interface.
