Reference design for Johansen chip antenna.

I plan to connect an nRF52810 bluetooth output to a Johansen Tech 2450AT07A0100 chip antenna via a Johansen 2450FM07A0029 impedance matching chip. Do you have a BT SIG approved layout for such a connection?
Will potting in epoxy resin change the tuning enough to invalidate the reference design?

  • Hi,

we do not, and all end product designs should do RF-PHY, since any changes to the layout would trigger a re-assessment and Bluetooth RF-PHY re-test, even if they try to copy a reference.

Epoxy will influence the antenna tuning yes, and the antenna should be tuned with epoxy and the enclosure around.

We are always happy to help you in your design process and give HW reviews.

    Best regards,
    Kaja
