How did you guys calculate the L and C values for the external connection to the DCDC? I might need to change these values

The values of the L and C are calculated for maximum efficiency of the DCDC converter. If you change the values, the efficiency will drop and worst case, it will stop functioning.
Ok, but what was the process/equations used?
The DCDC converter operates at 8 MHz. It's designed to use a 10 µF inductor and a 1 µF capacitor by simulations. One aspect when designing a DCDC converter that supplies the radio, and especially the receiver, it to keep the noise level low enough to it doesn't affect the sensitivity level. You can easily run into problems with the harmonics generated by the DCDC converter. So it's highly recommended to use the values in the reference design. If you find that a 10 µH inductor is too large, it's possible to split it into 3x3.3 µH or 4x2.5 µH
